Radisson Blu Resort, Fujairah

Turtles, manta rays and colourful fishes await you just 90 minutes away from Dubai

To expect

A hotel that lies on a stunning private beach to enjoy a variety of water sports and marine expeditions. Best for snorkelling in the area, near the shore, perfect for families.

The hotel located near Dibba, Fujairah is situated between the Hajjar mountains and the Indian Ocean, in a spot which is popular for diving and snorkelling surrounded by the rich marine life.

Stay

We stayed in a suite with an incredible view of the beach that make the mornings and evenings magical. The room was well spaced and perfect for families including a separate toilet, a kitchenette area and a dining room area. The kids channels on TV were only in Arabic, but fortunately our boys were continuously entertained with outdoor activities. The hotel is not new, but we were quite pleased with the standards of our suite.

Dining

The breakfast takes place at the Breeze restaurant on the first floor and it has a good variety of options served from a buffet. The restaurant has two balconies to enjoy breakfast outdoors overseeing the beach. Our favourite view was from the balcony at the right side of the restaurant.

We had lunch outdoors at the casual a la carte restaurant on the ground floor. We recommend ordering with 30 minutes anticipation in peak times (1-3pm) as it gets busy and it could take quite a while to receive your order. The kids can spend a bit of time in the complimentary game room while waiting. Early dinner at 6:00pm was ideal, not very busy and rather fast while enjoying the sunset views.

Water Sports

The highlight of the hotel is the water sports centre. Located in a perfect area to enjoy the waters, the centre offers activities such as snorkelling excursions, boat trips, stand up paddle, kayaking, etc. For the adrenaline seekers, you can take a ride in the banana boat, rent a jetski or wake board.

There is also an inflatable aqua park the kids can enjoy (at a small fee) but trust us it is not as easy as it looks!

If you are staying only for a night or two, we recommend calling the hotel a day in advance to schedule the water sport activities, to ensure you can book the desired time.

Our favourite experience was snorkelling with turtles

Our favourite activity by far was the snorkelling experience. A short boat trip (5-minute distance) takes you close to Dibba Rock, where you can experience and snorkel through a nice underwater world at sea and around the rock, with a good chance to encounter turtles. You can also enjoy more limited snorkelling around the breakwater at the hotel, and towards the end there is a chance of spotting a turtle there too. Bear in mind the water around the breakwater is busy with water sports activities though.

There are also four swimming pools (3 are temperature controlled), which is great because they were never crowded yet we did spend most of the time at the beach.

To take into account

We were quite impressed by the attentive service of the staff as well as their friendliness. We were also satisfied by the encouragement of the hotel team to keep the safety protocols in place in times of COVID which gave us reassurance. Guests were also taking the precautions seriously both indoors and outdoors, something we hadn’t seen in some other hotels since COVID.
