What to expect:
An insightful two-hour interactive tour to learn everything about pearls in Ras al Khaimah
The tour starts at the Rams local port where a boat with the signage of “Suwaidi Pearl” will be waiting for you. The sign is well visible and located at the entrance of the port, in the middle of the parking lot, so it is easy to spot. The area serves many fishermen that provide to the local market.
You will be welcomed on board and offered soft drinks to enjoy during the sailing on a traditional abra boat. The trip will take you first to the Rams bay, a beautiful oasis where you can spot dozen of camels enjoying the waters. The area is a stunning sight to enjoy.
Following the visit to the Rams bay, you will set course to the floating pearl farm. At the farm, you will get an introduction about pearls diving in the UAE by a guide and you can set foot on an authentic boat used for the activity in the past.
The guide will further explain about the Oysters and the process of cultivating pearls nowadays. You can see first-hand how they are taken care of. You can select an Oyster from the water tank for it to be opened. If you are lucky, you will see a pearl!
If you wish to buy the newly found pearl, it is only 150 Dhs. In addition you can find many pearls and pearl made jewelry pieces at the shop for purchasing. Cash and credit cards are accepted.
