If you have the idea of Cusco as a hiking trip right after school graduation, think again!
Cusco makes a perfect destination for families too. With the guide of Lima Tours, we spent four wonderful days full of fun. From painting the famous "Toritos de Pukara" at the Art Trail Community to sliding down the ruins in Sacsayhuaman, we share with you a different way of discovering the ancestral city of the Incas.
“The community of Huilloc is known for its textiles and we want to know everything about it"
“ Start the adventure through the famous caves of the fort. Some of them used to serve as way to reach the famous Qoricancha at the heart of Cuzco'
Transportation You can reach Cusco by air in about 45 minutes from Lima's airport. Airlines such as Latam, Avianca, LCPeru reach the city. We flew with these three airlines during our time in Peru and although they all seem to have a challenge with punctuality, the one we found had the best service overall was LCPeru
If you are travelling by bus, we recommend Cruz del Sur The trip is long and they offer quite a variety of options to travel comfortably.
Where to stay
Staying at the heart of the city is useful if you are travelling with kids. Afternoons at the "Plaza de Armas"where no cars are allowed makes a perfect place to relax stress free.
Hotel Monasterio is perfect if you are looking for something special. The decor composed of art from the 1800 makes you feel in a museum. The beautiful courtyards make a perfect playground for your kids to enjoy the sunshine. The hotel also offers special activities for the little ones such as cooking classes and tours. Hotel Arcangel at the other side of the Plaza is also an alternative for families travelling. The service is excellent and the staff is quite considerate with families with children from the ease of the arrival to the attention during breakfast.
